Golden Gate days

San Fransisco has many nice features so we tried to make most of time there. The first morning was spend in the Goldengate Park, which we found out is BIG. We walked all the way from the east side to the beach in the west. A long the way we came through the Japanese gardens, very lovely, a lot of people BBQing and having birthday parties in the park, and a Dutch windwill. Unfortunately there wasn't an oportunity to have a drink at the beach so we took the bus back to our startingpoint near the Science Museum. The museum itself was nice, not too big but very interactive. A big aquarium in the cellar and a rainforrest with live butterflies and birds in the center of the museum. We even made a quick trip to the roof to get a good outlook on the park. We spend the rest of the day driving around enjoying a great view of the Golden Gate bridge and driving down Lincoln street (the crooketest street in the world). We ended the day in Fishermans Warf with dinner and headed back to our hotel.
On the second day we scheduled a visit to Alcatraz in the afternoon. We used the morning ours to visit Crissy field park and search for the bench where Ellen and Dirk got engaged last year. And we found it, including the heart and initials they scratched in the back. A lovely spot in the park with view on the bridge, we took pictures and put our initials with theirs.
Alcatraz was very impressive, we were lucky there was no fog in the bay so we got a nice skyline view of the city, the bridge and the island. We took the audiotour through the old prisonbuilding and walked around the island enjoying the views and many many many birds that live there. Another day ended with a dinner at fishermans warf and we prepared for our trip to Yosemite in the morning, camping!!
